Our Story

For more than 40 years, COMETTO industry puts its knowledge
in the service of the professionals of the gastronomy.


Leaflet Cometto

Cometto Industrie is a French Company with French shareholders. This company has almost 50 high qualified employees and is settled at Jassans –Riottier, 30 km north from Lyon. The company is manufacturing and selling cooking equipment for public sector, hotels and restaurants all around the world.


Cometto industrie was created in 1968 by Mister Achille Cometto and was firstly settled at Villefranche sur Saône. It  was one of the first manufacturer of an oven with pulsed air for pastry. At this beginning, Cometto Industrie manufactured also cooking equipment for delicatessen and pork butchers, especially a well-known rotisserie. Then and rapidly, new products enlarged this range of products made of aluminium and stainless steel. They were the basis of Cometto fame : reliability and robustness.


Because of its success, Cometto launched its first Cometto fryer in 1969, in order to enter the cooking equipment market for restaurants. Then, new products as gas cooker, bain- marie and finally kettles and pans were launched.


In August 1985, the company moved to Jassans-Riottier in new 5000 m² building at Jassans-Riottier.

1991 is a  crucial date:

Implementation of a R&D in order to create new products, to optimise manufacturing and adapt products to the new European norms (safety and hygiene);

Industrialization of the manufacturing by implementing : a laser cutting machine, 2 press brakes, a punching machine and a cutting machine to accelerate the output and to improve the quality of our ranges of products.

This improvement enabled the company to combine traditional know-how and technological evolutions in terms of energy savings, security improvement and performances enhancement. The result was the launching of more technical products like bratt pans , tilting kettles, bespoke equipment…

The company grew from 10 to near 50 employees and has now really well-known references around the world:
